§ 01OVERVIEW

Application close date:

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Join Blue Origin's Operations Reliability organization as a Sr. Asset Introduction Engineer, where you will own the process of bringing new equipment, tooling, and ground systems into reliable service across Blue Origin's production, test, and launch operations. You will be the reliability authority at the transition point between "built" and "operating" — ensuring every new asset enters service with the maintenance plans, criticality assessments, and spares coverage it needs to perform. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

This position is responsible for leading the commissioning and reliability acceptance of new equipment and systems, and for building the maintenance and spares infrastructure that sustains them in service.

§ 02RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Lead reliability acceptance and commissioning activities for new equipment, tooling, and ground systems — defining pass/fail criteria and driving resolution of open items before assets enter service.

  • Develop preventive maintenance plans, criticality assessments, and spare parts strategies for new assets, partnering with operations and maintenance teams to ensure they are executable from day one.

  • Own asset setup in Maximo or equivalent CMMS — ensuring new equipment enters the system with complete, accurate data including PM plans, criticality ratings, and spares linkage.

  • Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) activities with vendors, design teams, and operations, tracking open items through closure.

  • Build and maintain commissioning documentation, acceptance records, and asset introduction packages that give operations teams everything they need to sustain new equipment in service.

  • Track asset introduction pipeline across multiple concurrent projects, surfacing risks to schedule and readiness before they become problems.

  • Spend significant time on the floor and in the field observing commissioning activities, engaging with operations and maintenance stakeholders, and closing out open items.

§ 03MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, or related engineering field.

  • Experience in reliability, maintenance engineering, or operations in a manufacturing, aerospace, or high-consequence environment.

  • Experience leading equipment commissioning, reliability acceptance testing, or factory/site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) activities.

  • Experience developing preventive maintenance plans, criticality assessments, and spare parts strategies for complex mechanical, fluids, or electrical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fluid schematics, and electrical circuit diagrams.

  • Must be available to support off-shift or weekend work during critical builds or commissioning activities.

  • Must be willing to travel 25% of the time.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

§ 04PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with Maximo, SAP, or other CMMS/ERP platforms — specifically asset setup, PM plan creation, and spare parts management.

  • Experience in launch, spaceflight, aerospace production, or other high-consequence, high-complexity operations.

  • Experience developing or improving maintenance standards, commissioning procedures, or acceptance test plans.

  • Familiarity with reliability engineering tools such as FMEA, criticality analysis, or reliability centered maintenance (RCM).

  • Experience coordinating across vendor, design, and operations teams to drive asset readiness.

This position is not for immediate vacancy but is intended to fill anticipated future openings. Applicants who best meet the job requirements will be contacted and considered when a position becomes available

§ 05CULTURE STATEMENT

Don’t meet all desired requirements? Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single desired qualification. At Blue Origin, we are dedicated to building an authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every desired qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
