This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.We are seeking an Associate - Technician to support New Glenn (NG) Operations in our Work Centers. In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks to assist with manufacturing, production, logistics, and facilities functions in a fast-paced environment. Your commitment to safety and attention to detail will directly contribute to our goal of ensuring safe human spaceflight.
Assist with the setup of new production work areas, ensuring tooling and equipment are properly configured for operational efficiency and safety.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and other ground support equipment as required to facilitate production processes.
Support Continuous Improvement projects aimed at enhancing safety and efficiency in the workplace, contributing to a culture of operational excellence.
Perform routine functions, including daily clean-up of work areas, supporting 5S activities, and eliminating Foreign Object Debris (FOD) to maintain a safe working environment.
Move parts and tooling between work centers as needed to optimize workflow.
Undertake additional duties assigned by higher-level technicians or supervision that contribute to fulfilling our mission of safe space exploration.
The Machine shop team is a very diverse group of Machinists, NC Programmers and Technicians who setup, operate and maintain world class, state of the art CNC machines to fabricate components for various spaceflight systems. We are responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC machines and equipment to produce accurate components enabling first article success on tight tolerance, high value parts.
1-3 years of experience in basic hand tools and assembly processes.
High School diploma, GED, or Military experience.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee.
Continuous improvement mindset, always seeking to refine and enhance processes to contribute to operational success.
Curiosity to understand business details and optimize operations, fostering innovation in the workplace.
Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
Willingness to work overtime.
**Shift: Friday - Sunday (5:00am - 5:30pm), Location: Space Coast, Fl, Relocation: Available**
