This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.This role is part of Blue Origin's engineering team, where our focus is on the design, development, testing, and operation of advancedenginesand fluid system applications. As part of a dynamic and dedicated team of engineers, you will contribute to both combustion device development and test facility systems that are critical to our mission. You will apply your technicalexpertisein fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and structural analysis to solve complex engineering challenges across multiple aspects of our programs. We are looking for someone who candemonstratetechnical excellence, leadership skills, and commitment to quality while advancing our mission.
Design and develop combustion devices (injectors, chambers, igniters, and related components)
Lead the design of high-temperature gas systems, including process architecture and layout forcomponents testing andtest facilities
Manage a combustion device's complete product lifecycle frominitialrequirements through qualification
Develop and document test requirements and procedures
Support test operations, including data collection, analysis, and hardware performance assessment
Design and develop mechanical test fixtures and structural supports
Conduct Process Hazard Analysis activities for fluid systems (HAZOP)
Coordinate with suppliers, managing cost, schedule, and technical design requirements
Provide remote and on-site support during manufacturing, fabrication, installation, and start-up of new facilities or hardware upgrades
Coordinate with internal customers to refine project scope and requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field
Minimum of5years of industry experience inof relevant engineering experience
Demonstrated experiencein fluid mechanics, heattransferand structural mechanics
Experience with CAD software and drawing creation
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with data analysis and data processing
Master's degree or higher in engineering discipline
Strong knowledge of combustion devices design process and hardware fabrication techniques
Strong technical fundamentals in fluids,heat transfer, and combustion analysis
Proven application of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to machining drawings
Familiarity with ASME, API, AISC and ACI codes,
Experience operating test facilities
Experience with hardware development and test systems
Compensation Range for:
