This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.We are looking for a Fluid Systems Design Engineer to support the design and development of the cryogenic management and supply subsystem on the MK2 Crew Lander. This is a vehicle-centric position which includes the complete life cycle of the integrated propulsion system including development testing.
You will work with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the MK2 Crewed Lunar Lander that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area
- 4+ years of experience in developing and testing space-vehicle propulsion systems
- Experience designing propulsion systems or hardware using CAD software such as CREO or Siemens NX
- Experience or familiarity with first order fluids or structural analysis
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment with partners
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly interface with external parties including government and commercial entities
- Willingness to work on-site with occasional travel
- M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area
- Expertise in CREO
- Experience with upper stages and spacecraft
- Experience with cryogenic propellants
- Experience with the entire life cycle of a propulsion or fluid system
- Experience with fluids tube routing, pressurization systems, and controls
- Experience with coordinating hardware integration
Compensation Range for:
