As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will drive the development, design, test, and manufacturing of Honeybee Robotics' electronic Motion Control products. You will own multi-board designs through the full development lifecycle, making key technical decisions as products progress toward flight-ready status and transition to the manufacturing and test engineering teams.

You will take ownership of electronic design within project teams, lead design reviews, and serve as a primary technical point of contact for customers and colleagues. This includes independently managing your work within multidisciplinary team structures, developing and executing prototypes and test plans, and making design decisions on hardware that will actually go to space.

§ 03RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Independent schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium
  • Leading design reviews and presenting technical information to project stakeholders
  • Driving internal process development and contributing to team best practices
  • Making and documenting key design decisions with minimal supervision
§ 04MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited technical college or university in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 5+ years of work experience in electronic product design
  • Demonstrated experience with embedded system design, including:
    • Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal Design
    • Board-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN)
    • Controlled impedance for high-speed channel design (SpaceWire, 10GbE, SerDes)
    • Linear and Switch Mode DC/DC Power Conversion
    • Documentation (Test Procedures & Reports, Interface Control Documents, ECOs)
  • Experience with:
    • Design Analysis and Simulation (WCA/WCCA, Reliability, Radiation, Spice)
    • Signal and Power Integrity (SI/PI)
    • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
  • Strong experience in prototype development, debug, and test in a lab environment
  • Proven experience crafting and launching products in regulated environments

  • Experience crafting motion control and electromechanical systems for space environments
  • Experience with:
    • EEE-INST-002 and radiation-hardness/mitigation
    • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
    • Altium Designer
    • Cable and Wire Harness Design
    • System and functional requirements generation
  • Familiarity with:
    • DSP and Microcontroller firmware development
    • FPGA Design (Verilog and VHDL)
