§ 01OVERVIEW

Application close date:

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
§ 02THE SCHEDULE IS THE HEARTBEAT OF THE PROGRAM. COME OWN IT.

At Blue Origin, we believe that access to space changes everything — and we're not waiting around for it to happen. We're building it. Right now. In Kent, Washington.

Project Horizon is our purpose-built upper stage manufacturing facility for New Glenn's GS2 Gen 2.1 — one of the most ambitious aerospace manufacturing programs in the world. We're standing up a brand-new production system from the ground up, hiring the team that will build it, and delivering our first article unit on a schedule that doesn't have room for hesitation.

The Planner/Scheduler III is the scheduling backbone of Quattro Production Operations. You will build, maintain, and drive the integrated production schedules that keep every work center, every build team, and every delivery milestone aligned and moving forward. It's a decision-making tool. You'll make sure it's always accurate, always current, and always actionable.

§ 03SPECIAL MENTIONS
  • Relocation provided

  • Travel expected up to 10% of the time

  • Shifts available:

    • A shift

  • Interviews will include a technical assessment

§ 04RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
§ 05INTEGRATED SCHEDULE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE
  • Build, baseline, and maintain the Integrated Milestone Schedule (IMS) for all Quattro Production Operations, spanning Low Bay, Mid Bay, and High Bay work centers across the full production flow

  • Develop and manage detailed production schedules from facility activation through first article build and into full rate production

  • Integrate schedules across all production areas — Tank Fabrication, Dome Machining & Assembly, Barrel Fabrication & Assembly, Engine Structure, ISA, Skirts, Final Integration, and Coatings — into a single coherent program schedule

  • Maintain schedule logic, dependencies, and critical path integrity across all work centers and production phases

  • Baseline and version-control all schedule updates, ensuring a clear audit trail of changes and impacts

§ 06LOOK-AHEAD PLANNING AND PRODUCTION SUPPORT
  • Develop and publish daily, weekly, and monthly look-ahead schedules for production floor operations, providing work center managers and supervisors with actionable near-term visibility

  • Identify schedule conflicts, resource constraints, and upstream feed stream delays before they impact the production floor — bring solutions, not just problems

  • Support daily and weekly production rhythm meetings with current schedule status, constraint tracking, and recovery options

  • Translate high-level program milestones into work-center-level task sequences and durations that production teams can execute against

§ 07SCHEDULE ANALYSIS AND REPORTING
  • Perform critical path analysis and schedule risk assessments to identify threats to key milestones and delivery commitments

  • Track need dates versus forecast dates across all production milestones and quantify schedule deltas with clear, concise reporting

  • Develop and maintain schedule performance metrics — planned vs. actual, schedule variance, float consumption — and present findings at program reviews

§ 08CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SCHEDULE INTEGRATION
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling, Facilities, and Business Operations teams to integrate all upstream and support schedules into the production IMS

  • Coordinate with the Master Scheduler to ensure production schedules are aligned with the program-level Integrated Master Schedule

  • Interface with Production Control and Material Handling teams to align material availability and kitting schedules with production need dates

  • Support facility activation milestone tracking, ensuring work center readiness schedules are reflected in the production IMS

§ 09MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related discipline — or equivalent experience demonstrating the same depth of scheduling knowledge

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in production planning, scheduling, or program controls in an aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environment

  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Project — schedule development, resource loading, critical path analysis, and baseline management

  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 — schedule development, progress updating, and reporting in a multi-project environment

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining Integrated Milestone Schedules (IMS) for complex, multi-disciplinary programs

  • Proven ability to develop daily, weekly, and monthly look-ahead schedules that are used and trusted by production floor teams

  • Strong analytical skills — ability to identify critical path threats, quantify schedule risk, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and leadership audiences

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

§ 10PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience supporting production scheduling for a first article build or new production line activation in an aerospace or defense program

  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and schedule performance index (SPI) reporting

  • Background in takt-time-based production scheduling or flow-based manufacturing environments

  • Experience integrating facility activation, tooling delivery, and production readiness milestones into a unified IMS

  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and their interface with production scheduling tools

  • Experience developing schedule risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulation or equivalent probabilistic methods

  • PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) or Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) certification

§ 11CULTURE STATEMENT

Don’t meet all desired requirements? Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single desired qualification. At Blue Origin, we are dedicated to building an authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every desired qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
