This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.We are seeking a Senior Facilities Architect licensed in Florida to join our team. This position will play a critical role in overseeing architectural design for complex industrial manufacturing and aerospace facilities, with emphasis on developing construction documents and ensuring compliance with building codes and life safety requirements.
- Oversee the development of comprehensive construction documents for aerospace and industrial manufacturing facilities
- Sign and seal architectural drawings and specifications as the Architect of Record
- Perform and document detailed life safety analyses for complex facilities
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, contractors, and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
- Ensure code compliance and integration of life safety systems in architectural designs
- Lead technical design reviews and quality control processes
- Mentor junior staff on technical documentation and regulatory requirements
- Interface with regulatory authorities during permitting and approval processes
- Current Florida Architectural License
- Ability and willingness to obtain architectural licensure in additional states as projects require
- 10+ years of architectural experience with progressive responsibility
- Demonstrated experience with life safety analysis for industrial and/or aerospace facilities
- Proficiency in developing construction documents for complex technical projects
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes, NFPA standards, and life safety requirements
- Experience signing and sealing drawings as Architect of Record
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Experience with aerospace facilities, launch infrastructure, or specialized industrial environments
- LEED accreditation
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices for industrial applications
- Familiarity with federal and DoD facility requirements
- Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
