Senior Marine Electrical Engineer
Application close date:
Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed. At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. At Blue Origin, we are constructing a new class of marine vessel purpose-built for one of the most ambitious missions in the history of spaceflight: the at-sea recovery and return of orbital-class rocket boosters. This is not a retrofit or a conversion — it is a from-the-keel-up new build, and we need an exceptional marine electrical engineer to own the electrical architecture that will make it all work.
As part of a dedicated, cross-functional team — working alongside the Recovery Offshore Operations Engineer, the Technical Lead (Analyst / Naval Architect), and a team of Project Construction Managers — you will develop, execute, and support electrical systems for a fleet of marine assets that enable at-sea space hardware recovery. You will be responsible for seamless and uninterrupted operations across a high volume of Blue Origin assets and facilities. Your work will span electrical systems engineering and maintenance, including requirements development and decomposition, technical trade study support, risk management, build execution, and verification planning and testing. In this role, you will coordinate and plan alongside Blue Origin marine teams, interface with program management and customers, and provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers and operators.
This is a rare opportunity to design and commission the electrical backbone of a vessel that will help humanity reach the stars. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
