The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

OurBlue Ring (I-SS)program is looking for experienced personnel to join their ground system team as a ground software engineer. We are a passionate group developing mobility missions that willimpactthe history of space exploration!We are a team with wide-ranging skillsets that value problem-solving. You will work in a fast-paced dynamic environment, contributing innovative solutions, whiledemonstratingpersonal leadership, technical competence, and attention to detail. This position will directlyimpactthe history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and reliable spaceflight.

As aSeniorNetwork Engineer, you will helpbuild, integrate, andmaintainthe flight networkrequiredfor theBlue Ring (I-SS)Mission Operations Center used to fly on-orbit vehicles. As a Senior Network Engineer on a mission-driven team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will design, build, andmaintainthe automation frameworks that underpin the network infrastructure supportingcriticalspaceflight systems. From enterprise core to industrial and facility access layers across multiple Blue Origin sites, you will transform how we design, deploy, manage, andoperatenetworks through scripting, orchestration, and modern DevOps practices.

§ 03RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Establish and implement standardized network design practices acrossIn-Space-Systemssites and design scalable network solutions that support spaceflightoperations

  • Design, develop, andmaintainautomation frameworks and tools to automate network design, deployment, and operational management processes across Blue Origin's multi-vendor, multi-site network environment.

  • Develop, secure, andmaintainnetworkequipmentto support mission operations 

  • Proactivelymonitornetwork performance and health dashboards; triage and resolve issues with full ownership through resolution, including root cause analysis.

  • Support network capacity planning and lifecycle management across enterprise and industrial environments.

§ 04QUALIFICATIONS:
  • B.S.or higher degreein computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science,computer engineering, or related fieldor equivalent experience

  • 8+years ofrelevant experiencearchitecting,developingand deploying scalable and maintainable network infrastructure.

  • Experience in network device installation, configuration, and monitoring.

  • Experience developing and managing network device configurations in multi-vendor environments

  • Deep understandingofprotocols including but not limited to (TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS), routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), and network services (DHCP, DNS, NTP)

  • Experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g.Python, Go, Rust, C++,etc)

  • Highly organized team player with excellent technical written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstratedtrack recordof resourcefulness from theirpreviousassignments.    

  • Ability to earn trust,maintainpositive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

  • Must Possess andmaintainaTop Secret/SCIClearance

  • Experience with Juniper networking platforms (JNCIS-ENT, JNCIS-DevOps, JNCIP, or higher certifications a plus)

  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks security platforms

  • Experience with network monitoring and observability platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar)

  • Experience with network capacity planning and lifecycle management

  • Experience with cloud networking and hybridon-premises/cloud infrastructure

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles andGitOpsworkflows
