This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.As part of hardworking team of specialists and engineers, you will develop and execute supplier quality processes for the design, test and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of Supplier Quality Management processes.
We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight from Blue Origin’s Kent, WA location. Travel limited initially, may increase up to 50% of the time.
Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential suppliers regarding quality and technical capability.
Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans.
Participate on quality improvement and nonconformance reduction activities at the supplier
Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long-term business objectives.
Communicate supplier performance to senior management.
Participate in supplier pre-ship reviews, quality audits, hardware acceptance and corrective actions.
Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, academics, and/or mathematics related field or equivalent years of experience.
3-5 years relevant industry experience in an aerospace manufacturing field with at least 2 years in a supplier quality role.
Travel may increase up to 50% of the time and have a valid driver’s license.
Quality assurance experience in an aerospace production environment, including relevant experience in AS9100 requirements and auditing techniques.
Self-initiation and excellent time management skills.
Proficiencies to stay closely connected to your leadership structure and operational customers while working in the field at suppliers or remotely.
Technical background and experience on one or more of the following aerospace commodities: avionics, electronics, machined parts (including bellows and flex hoses), valves and fluid controls, composites, assembly practices, castings and forgings, tooling, or chemical processing.
Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development through production operations.
AS9100D Lead Auditor Certification
Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification
