This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.This position reports through the Advanced Manufacturing Fabrication Division, allowing for the opportunity to gain and share experiences across many projects. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Shift: A Shift Monday -Friday (7:00AM-3:30PM)
Shift: B Shift Monday - Friday (3:30PM - 11:00PM)
Perform all aspects of fabrication and assembly of large structural components involving drilling, grinding, shimming, fastening, and torquing.
Install fluid and pneumatic components with precision.
Inspect all components and assemblies for blueprint conformance, including interpreting GD&T.
Collaborate with leadership to align work priorities with schedules and goals.
Ensure product quality and adherence to engineering specifications.
Facilitate design improvements for tooling fabrication.
Implement safety and efficiency enhancements in the assembly process.
Support mission objectives through dedicated duties.
Work in elevated or confined spaces as needed.
Over 6 years of experience in tooling fabrication and assembly, preferably in the aerospace industry.
Strong blueprint interpretation skills specific to tool assembly.
Detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and effective communication abilities in fast-paced team environments.
Customer-focused mindset with proven teamwork skills across multiple teams.
Exceptional organizational and analytical skills to manage complex projects independently.
Familiarity with precision tools such as torque wrenches and micrometers.
Experience working with heavy equipment like cranes and forklifts.
Advanced mechanical assembly skills in hardware installation and tooling assembly, including working with large structural components involving drilling, fastening, grinding, shimming, among others.
Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office suites.
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in tool and die making.
Journeyman Tool Maker certification, military technical training, or equivalent experience.
Exposure to large tooling components.
Proficiency in operating a variety of machining equipment, including lathes, and milling machines.
Haas/ Fanuc control experience. To include programing and set-up.
The ability to learn corrective repairs on a variety of complex and noncomplex Mechanical & Electrical equipment with minimal supervision.
Be able to use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Experience operating fork trucks, scissor lifts, high reaches, and other powered industrial vehicles.
Understanding of best practices related to 5S incorporation and to FOD elimination.
